At Brooklyn Game Lab, we encourage kids’ growth mindset by choosing smart, challenging board, card, and role-playing games. The games foster exploration and expansion of knowledge and skills, while friendships develop between like-minded kids. They work in small groups to come up with new rules, new characters, and other items that can transform a game into a more exciting, unusual, or competitive experience. Kids receive positive reinforcement during and at the conclusion of every session. Our merit system rewards kids’ accomplishments and contributions. When kids reach Level 7 thru merit-earning, they join one of our five Immortal clans and compete on the largest youth board game on the planet. Weather permitting, we always go outside for sword fighting as part of our Battle lab!
Programs:
No school? No problem! We’ll keep the kids busy and happy while they sharpen their logistical thinking and social and emotional IQ. Our day starts with quick-playing, icebreaker-type games, and continues with more complex, strategic board games. Then kids work on new game designs and modifications. They receive merit badges for their contributions and skills. If weather allows, we spend an hour in outdoor game play. The afternoon concludes with role playing games, design time, and free-play time!

PLAY GAMES ALL DAY? SIGN ME UP!
We unplug your kids for awesome game play and so much more! Lab’bers play chess, cooperative, and strategy games. They create new games and modify existing games. They analyze game structure, tinker with rules, create tactics, and collaborate with new friends. Experienced, creative staff lead game play and analysis, and guide kids in group presentations and design sessions. Lab’bers receive merits as their design, problem solving, and diplomacy skills develop, and earn their way onto one of our Lab-original, mega-game, Immortal Wars’ clans.
