Altschool, a Zuckerberg-backed start-up running private schools and developing educational software, is closing all its for-profit schools. The Brooklyn Heights campus at 212 Hicks Street is transitioning to become a Guidepost Montessori School starting this school year 2019/20.

The school has two mixed-age classrooms, ages 3 to 6 and ages 6 to 11. The facility does not feature an outdoor space and recess takes place in nearby Brooklyn Bridge Park. School hours are 8.30 am to 3 pm with extended hours until 6 pm.
