The waterfront kite festival will take place at Pier 1 in Brooklyn Bridge Park on Saturday, May 5th from 12 to 2.30 pm. Watch your kite soar above the Manhattan skyline and explore the science of flight! This family-friendly festival unites S.T.E.A.M concepts and outdoor adventures! Kids can learn the science of flight through kite-flying and experiments including:
- Build parachutes and test them in wind tunnels
- Check out robotic air propellers
- Design and create your own rocket
- Use a variety of textiles to make colorful hand kites
Kites will be for sale at the event.
